Opening hours

  • Tuesday to Saturday (except Gazetteed holidays) from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

* During COVID19 period, the Library is closed.

Using Library

Our building

· At Building A, lobby, children library, writers’ hand-writings exhibit, British Council’s English Corner, and Orientation Hall are existed.

· At Building B, Reference and Electronic Reading Room, General Reading Room, Books on Myanmar and Asia and Oceania Reading Room, book stacks, library

functions divisions such as acquisition, processing, preservation and conservation, administration and Wunzin Minrazar Hall are existed.

· At Building C, palm-leaf and parabaik manuscripts room is existed.

Get library card

To get membership card, membership application forms can be obtained free of charge from the National Library (Nay Pyi Taw) or from its website www.nlmnpt.gov.mm/page/memberform. Applicant has to complete the form and submit with a copy of ID card, 2 license photos, copy of census certificate of two recommended citizens and copies of their citizenship cards.

The members of the Children's Library must be between 5 and 15 years old. The application form must be completed and signed by the parent or guardian on behalf of the child. The parent or guardian is responsible for all matters relating to the borrowed material.

 

How to use library

The National Library of Myanmar provides services as a peaceful learning center for library users. Every citizen can visit library without admission by respecting rules. Visitor has to get visitor card by changing with any of his/her identity card. Member can use the library resources according to the rules and policy of the National Library (Nay Pyi Taw).
